Free Eye Test with PRSI or Medical Card

Could your next eye test be free? More people than ever are now entitled to free eye tests – are you one of them? Eye tests are free if you’re employed, self-employed or retired and have the required number of social contributions, or if you have a medical card. What’s more, if you’re over 40 or your optician recommends it, your eye test will include digital retinal photography at no extra charge. Those eligible for PRSI must provide their PPS number at appointment booking (found on your payslip or tax documents). Medical Card customers please call our store. Cannot be exchanged for cash or used with other vouchers. Eye test funded by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection or HSE. Cannot be redeemed by customers not entitled to a free PRSI or Medical Card eye test. Excludes OCT scans and eye tests for VDU use, safety glasses or driving licenses. One per person, no more than once every two years.
