How much is an eye test?
Specsavers eye tests cost €30 (excluding OCT).
This does not apply for eye tests for driver reports as these are not our standard eye test and the charge can be up to €60. The cost varies depending on several factors, including:
- The location of the store
- If you’re eligible for a free eye test under the PRSI and the Treatment Benefit Scheme. Read more about the eligibility criteria.
- If you’re eligible under the Medical Card optical benefit schemes (funded by the Department of Social Protection or the HSE).
PRSI and the Treatment Benefit Scheme
For a full breakdown to see whether you qualify for a free eye test, head to our dedicated PRSI or Medical Card eye test page here.
OCT scan eye test
When you book an eye test, you can also book an additional Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) test.
In most stores, the cost of our hospital-grade OCT appointments is up to €25 (in addition to the standard eye test cost) but this may vary. If in doubt, you can call your local store and they can confirm.
You should seek professional advice if you are concerned about your eye health.
