Help and frequently asked questions

What is a convergence test?

Answer:

This tests the ability of your eyes to come together effectively as you focus on something close up.

Your optician will do this by asking you to focus on a target held a certain distance from your eyes and then moving the target closer to your eyes.

If your eyes are unable to converge effectively this may cause problems such as double vision when you are looking at objects close to you.

Convergence can be affected by the functioning of the muscles and varies with age.
