Help and frequently asked questions

I have problems with glare in bright sunlight. What can I do about this?

Answer:

Your optician can prescribe lenses to make this less of a problem.

Tinted and photochromic lenses - which react by darkening in bright light - might be helpful.

If you need lenses for driving, bear in mind that photochromic lenses don't darken effectively inside modern cars as most windscreens contain a filter which blocks out ultraviolet (UV) light. It's this UV light that makes photochromic lenses darken.

Problems with glare often worsen with age and can be associated with the development of cataracts.
