Superhero fun day in Sligo for Crumlin
The team in Sligo hosted a Superhero Family Fun Day event recently, raising a fantastic €160 to go towards the refurbishment of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin’s ophthalmology unit.
Local superheroes
Store staff made a fantastic effort to dress up for the day’s superhero theme and face painters were on hand to ensure visitors and passers-by really got in on the action. The Quayside Shopping Centre store was fully decorated for Halloween with raffles and collections running throughout the day.
Brilliant effort
Store Director, Mary McGowan said of the fundraising activity: ‘We’re delighted that all of our staff dressed up and were so enthusiastic and involved with the day’s events. It was also great to have local people stop in and really engage with the face painters and Specsavers staff. We always find the people of Sligo to be very generous when it comes to donating to Crumlin and the €160 raised over the weekend is further testament to this.’
Great cause
The Department of Ophthalmology at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, typically diagnoses and treats over 10,000 patients annually, being one of the busiest departments in the hospital.
