Superhero family fun day raises €800
The team at Newbridge recently hosted a Superhero Family Fun Day, raising an amazing €800 to go towards the refurbishment of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin’s ophthalmology unit.
Store staff made a fantastic effort to dress up for the day and face painters were on hand to ensure visitors and passers-by really got in on the action. The Edward Street store was fully decorated for Halloween, with raffles and collections taking place throughout the weekend.
Aengus Morrin, Store Director, said of the fundraising activity: ‘We’re delighted that our staff were so enthusiastic and involved with the day’s events. It was also great to have local people stop by and really engage with all the action. We always find the people of Kildare to be very generous when it comes to donating to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and the €800 raised is further testament to this. I’ve no doubt that Specsavers will hit our €100,000 target within the year.”
The Department of Ophthalmology at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, for which Specsavers is fundraising for improvement, typically diagnoses and treats over 10,000 patients annually, being one of the busiest departments in the hospital.
