Store sponsors Boyne Valley Pink Ribbon Walk
For the sixth consecutive year, Specsavers Navan is sponsoring the Boyne Valley Pink Ribbon Walk. The annual charity event will take place on Sunday, 2 October 2016 and all monies raised will go directly to Action Breast Cancer, which reaches more than 25,000 women in Ireland each year that are concerned about breast cancer.
Community optician and hearing centre
Speaking at the launch, Assistant Manager Deirdre Sloane said, ‘As a community optician and hearing centre, supporting local charities and clubs is key part of our culture. We are delighted to continue or sponsorship of the Boyne Valley Pink Ribbon Walk, which raises awareness and provides essential services to cancer patients and their families. It is a fantastic community event, suitable for walkers and runners of all levels, and I would encourage the people of Navan to get involved in what promises to be a fun day out.’
This year’s 10km route starts and finishes in Kells and will once again take a circular route around Maudlin, Cherry Hill and the grounds of Headfort House. Action Breast Cancer Action Breast Cancer offers a range of services to cancer patients and their families including specialist night nurses, the volunteer drive to hospital scheme, a phone help line and counselling. Monies raised also go towards important scientific research in to cancer.
