Welcome To Cannistown National School
Specsavers Navan was delighted to welcome two groups of sixth class pupils from Cannistown National School in store, to discuss recent projects that they had undertaken.
Colour deficiency and Hawkeye
The team at Specsavers Navan learned that both groups had conducted projects applicable to the opticians and invited the local children to present to them in store. The two projects, which will be submitted to the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition next year, focused on colour deficiency and Hawkeye, the Specsavers sponsored visual technology used at Croke Park GAA games.
The Navan team was thrilled to have both groups of children in store to meet with the store’s optometrists. Staff at Navan were incredibly impressed with the student’s work, which was completed out of school hours and during weekends. The children were then invited to display their projects in store, which will remain on view for the week.
Speaking of the visit, store partner at Specsavers Navan, Kerril Hickey said, ‘We are delighted for the local pupils and their amazing achievement. We were so impressed by their two projects and thrilled they could come in store to present them. Both groups put in a huge amount of effort and it really shows. Specsavers Navan has always supported local organisations and schools and will continue with this tradition.’
As a vital player in the Navan retail landscape and local community, Specsavers Navan is a proud supporter of local organisations, clubs and local schools and was voted Best Retailer in Meath in the recent Meath Business Awards.
