Getting all dressed up for a great cause
Specsavers stores across Ireland have committed to raising €100,000 to go towards the refurbishment of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin’s ophthalmology unit. They have just passed the halfway mark, following successful in-store static cycles earlier this year and other fundraising activities. To celebrate the milestone occasion, the team at the Dundrum store recently hosted a Family Fun Day, raising a further €300 for Specsavers’ charity of the year.
Store staff made a fantastic effort to dress up for the day, decorating the store in Halloween decorations, with raffles and collections taking place throughout the weekend.
Owen Blee, Store Director at Specsavers Dundrum, said of the fundraising activity: ‘We’re delighted that our staff were so enthusiastic and involved with the day’s events. It was also great to have local people stop by and really engage with all the action. We always find the people of Dundrum to be very generous when it comes to donating to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and the €300 raised is further testament to this. I’ve no doubt that Specsavers will hit our €100,000 target within the year.'
