Getting all dressed up for great cause
The team at Specsavers Drogheda got a spook-tastic makeover last week, all in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Specsavers stores across Ireland have committed to raising €100,000 to go towards the refurbishment of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin’s ophthalmology unit. They have just passed the halfway mark, following successful in-store static cycles earlier this year and other fundraising activity.
To celebrate the milestone occasion, the Drogheda store, Drogheda Town Centre, hosted a Superheroes Family Fun Day event over the Halloween weekend. The team raised a fantastic €720, bringing to €3,000, the total amount raised by the store for Crumlin to date.
Speaking about the event, ophthalmic director David McCloskey said: 'We had a really fun day in store with our staff turning into a team of witches, priests and skeletons! We are delighted to have reached and surpassed the halfway mark and I’m incredibly proud of the team for all their fantastic fundraising efforts to date.’
