Drogheda search for Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2016

Specsavers Drogheda recently held a SWOTY scouting drive in local bar Cagney’s Bar on Dyer Street. Store staff were on the lookout for Ireland’s next Spectacle Wearer of the Year, encouraging entries with a selection of glasses and props for people to try on and snap a selfie with their favourite frames.
Scouting event
A DJ entertained guests as they browsed Specsavers’ designer frame collections before entering the SWOTY competition.
Pictured are Specsavers Drogheda store staff members Jamie Walsh, Emma Friel and Donna Fay at the event, which was a huge success with over 70 entries. The scouting activity also raised valuable funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin with €1 donated to the charity for each entry secured.
Specsavers Drogheda has issued a final call for entries for Spectacle Wearer of the Year (SWOTY) 2016. Proud specs wearers in Drogheda have until Sunday, 3 July to upload their specs selfies and be in with a chance of representing Ireland at the star-studded Grand Final in London and competing for €12,000 in cash, €1,000 worth of spectacles and an all-expenses trip to global fashion capital, New York.

Specsavers Drogheda Store Director Fiona O’Donnell said: ‘This is the last chance for people in Drogheda to enter so if you’re over the age of 16 and think you have specs appeal, simply upload your picture to www.specsavers.ie/loveglasses.com. Not only will you be in with a chance of winning some spec-tacular prizes but you’ll also be helping a very worthy cause.’
