Donegal Town invite you to their day of family fun
Donegal GAA Star Meet-and-Greet
Donegal GAA star Michael Murphy will be hosting a family fun day and a meet-and-greet with customers of Specsavers Donegal Town on Thursday, 26 July from 10am – 2pm in a bid to raise money for The Hope Foundation.
In addition to this, Ocean FM’s The Francie Boylan Show, hosted by Francie Boylan and Michelle Gildea will broadcast live from the store from 9am – 11am bringing an electric atmosphere for customers throughout the morning.
Family fun attractions
The store is encouraging customers of all ages to pop in on Thursday where they will be raffling off a five-foot teddy bear. Customers will be invited to buy guesses of the Teddy's name for €2 for their chance of winning this prized possession.
To further encourage customer involvement, the store will be raffling off a pair of designer glasses from the Karen Millen and Hackett range of glasses. With all funds raised going to The Hope Foundation, the store is aiming to make a substantial contribution to this worthwhile charity.
The Hope Foundation in Kolkata
In 2017, a team of optometrists from Specsavers stores in Ireland embarked on a volunteering trip with The Hope Foundation to Kolkata, carrying out over 1,000 eye tests on people across slums, schools, hospitals and rural villages in the region.
They dispensed over 300 pairs of glasses and 600 pairs of pre-made bifocals to those who were tested. In addition to this, urgent referrals were made for eye disease and trauma-related issues, as well as 100 referrals for cataracts, to The Hope Hospital.
As part of the new fundraising campaign, Specsavers staff will return to Kolkata in October, along-side new ambassador – Darren Kennedy. Darren is delighted to team up with Specsavers and The Hope Foundation on this important mission.
