Customer praises service at Carlow
Specsavers opticians in Carlow received some glowing customer service feedback despite the unfortunante circumstances and pressures placed on the store that day.
Mr Charles D writes:
' I made an appointment at the Carlow branch, which I had never been to before, for an eye test with the view to buy some new glasses.
I thought it a bit strange when I went in at the appointed time that the place was absolutely packed, probably 50% more people in the place than the branch was designed to accommodate and there was apparently some difficulty in establishing the booking in the computer diary. However, the actual appointment was somehow traced after a lot of checking.
After the confusion, I was eventually called into my main eye test which lasted about 20-25 minutes and was absolutely perfectly managed. It began with a volunteered apology for the delay which she told me was due to many factors, one being a problem with the booking system which meant considerable double-booking and due to rain an unexpected number of walk-ins with loads of children had made the situation almost unbearable.
That was CIARA who was not only brilliant at her job, she was also very sensitive and very person-focussed to the highest level. Near the end of the consultation she brought in SARA for assistance with checking the suitability of various frames etc.
Then unfortunately there was another standing around wait before I was sat down with DOLORES who went through the various checks regarding the marking of the measurements etc.
She too was so professional, extremely nice and careful with all her checking with just the right amount of professional discussion.
The process was quite ‘in your face’ and ‘up close and personal’, something normally I’m not very keen on, but she was so professional in how she did all of her checks. SARA had some very helpful input in this final check and the signing off by me on the final order for glasses.
In all I was dealt with by 5 people in the shop (2 of whose names I can’t recall, sorry) and every single one of them were so well trained and genuinely nice, the whole experience was superb despite the build-up of clients over which they had no control.
As I paid at the Reception desk, again more apologies for the delay, although at no time had I brought up the subject of delay myself which I thought was a very nice aspect of the whole visit.
I retired just 2 weeks ago from the medical devices business after a lifetime of being aware of good Customer Service being paramount. It is something I am very aware of . . . . and I can get very frustrated when the staff in places are not in tune with what they are providing, but I’m happy to say that my experience of the total package of fantastic customer service in your Carlow branch, even when under very difficult conditions, was just PERFECT.
I thought that I should mention this as high up the management ladder and hence this email. Please pass on my thoughts and thanks.
I thought your website was brilliant too, especially the sliding demo to demonstrate the lens coatings.
