Superhero family fun day raises €150 for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin
Specsavers stores across Ireland have committed to raising €100,000 to go towards the refurbishment of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin’s ophthalmology unit. They have just passed the halfway mark, following successful in-store static cycles earlier this year and other fundraising activity.
To celebrate the milestone and to launch phase two of the fundraising activity, the team at Specsavers Blanchardstown recently hosted a Superhero Family Fun Day event, raising a further €150 for Specsavers’ charity of the year.
Store staff made a fantastic effort to dress up for the day and face painters were on hand to ensure visitors and passers-by really got in on the action. The Blanchardstown Shopping Centre store was fully decorated for Halloween, with raffles and collections taking place throughout the weekend.
Kerril Hickey, Store Director, said of the fundraising activity: ‘We’re delighted that our staff were so enthusiastic and involved with the day’s events. It was also great to have local people stop by and really engage with all the action. We always find the people of Blanchardstown to be very generous when it comes to donating to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and the funds raised is further testament to this. I’ve no doubt that Specsavers will hit our €100,000 target within the year.'
