Specsavers Monaghan staff organised an in-store bake sale to raise much needed funds for the National Council of the Blind Ireland.
€400 was raised in total and donated to the charity, which helps the visually impaired throughout Ireland, at an official cheque presentation last week.
This is the first time Specsavers Monaghan has raised money for the NCBI and store director Kathleen Campbell said of the day, 'The Specsavers Monaghan staff were incredibly generous with their delicious baked goods and customers and staff alike really enjoyed the day as a whole. €400 is a great sum of money to be able to donate to a charity such as the NCBI, which does such fantastic work. We hope to continue to organise store fundraising events such as this in the future.'
