Specsavers Mullingar was thrilled to welcome Tony Power in store as he met with staff and customers ahead of his inspirational journey to Mount Everest Base Camp.
Climb for Crumlin
As part of the recently launched ‘Climb for Crumlin’ campaign, Specsavers staff member Tony Power is climbing to the foot of the world’s highest mountain to raise much needed funds for the refurbishment of the new ophthalmology department at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Specsavers staff across the country have also been holding in-store fundraising activities to support the campaign and ensure that they reach their target of raising €100,000 for the charity.
Enthusiasm and generosity
Speaking at Specsavers Mullingar Tony said “I am amazed by the level of enthusiasm and the generosity of customers and staff across the country who really got behind the campaign. Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin provides invaluable care to sick children and the money raised is enabling the charity to make a tremendous difference to the lives of families across the country.”
Great fundraising success
Having exceeded the initial €100,000 fundraising target, Specsavers Ireland recently presented Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin with a cheque for €120,000 and announced that it would be extending its commitment to the hospital by pledging to raise an additional €100,000.
