Suzanne McTiernan from Ballyfarnon in Roscommon is one step closer to winning the coveted title of Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year after being chosen as the winner of the 45-59 age category.

Nationwide search

Following a nationwide search, Suzanne beat off stiff competition from hundreds of entries and is one of five finalists who will compete to represent Ireland at the Grand Final in London on 11 October at 8 Northumberland Avenue.

Style and confidence

A longstanding customer of Specsavers Sligo, the Roscommon woman was encouraged to enter by her younger sister, Roisin. Having worn glasses since the age of 15, Suzanne was not always the glasses aficionado that she is today and would nowadays consider her glasses an extension of her look.

Speaking at the prize-giving, Suzanne McTiernan said, ‘I am absolutely delighted to have won my age category and would be so proud to represent Ireland at the Grand Final in London. I love my specs and often buy new frames to complement an outfit for a special occasion. I’m very much looking forward to picking up a new pair as part of my prize very soon.’

Store director at Specsavers Sligo Lyneve Wood added, ‘We are delighted that a customer from our store has won this category and would like to congratulate Suzanne on this achievement. She wears her glasses with style and confidence so is a worthy winner in our eyes.’
