Stores attend Sheep Shearing Championships
Specsavers Mullingar and Athlone are delighted to be attending the All Ireland & All Nations Sheep Shearing & Wool Handling Championship 2016. The annual event will take place this Saturday, 4 and Sunday, 5 June 2016 at Tullynally Castle, Castlepollard, Co.Westmeath.
This isn’t the first time sheep shearing and Specsavers have joined forces, with one of Specsavers’ most iconic adverts depicting an elderly farmer who struggles to see and accidently shears his faithful dog!
Free hearing screenings
Hundreds will flock to the event to enjoy the popular agricultural show, which takes place both days from 8am-6pm. Over the course of the weekend, Specsavers Ahtlone and Mullingar will be bringing the Sound Check hearing booth to the venue, which provides free hearing screenings and expert advice from Specsaver’s qualified audiologist.
hassle free oportunity
Specsavers Director Keith McCallion is thrilled to be a part of the annual event, saying “We are delighted to bring Specsavers Sound Check hearing booth to this year’s Championship. Hearing and vision loss can affect every aspect of your daily life, so we are delighted that Specsavers experts will be there to provide advice on the day.
Keith adds that it will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone concerned about their hearing to speak to a professional, without the hassle of having to book an appointment. Keith warns “I’d urge anyone who is concerned about their hearing not to suffer in silence and avail of this free service. Untreated hearing loss can lead to depression and social isolation which is why early detection is key.”
Keith continues “Regular hearing checks should be part of everyone’s health routine and we recommend that people over the age of 55 get a hearing test every two years.”
Specsavers Athlone and Mullingar urge all customers in the Westmeath area to drop by the hearing booth over the weekend and enjoy the host of activities that are on offer. The show will be a great day out for the whole family to enjoy!
