Store raffles hearing aids voucher worth €1,300
Demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the community in which it operates, Specsavers Dundalk recently visited the weekly Bingo in Ardee and raffled hearing aids to the value of €1,300 away on the night.
The team from Specsavers Dundalk distributed information leaflets and free raffle tickets to the bingo attendees on the night. Pictured receiving his prize is raffle winner Phil Smyth, alongside Specsavers Dundalk staff member Bernie Kellet.
Specsavers Dundalk audiologist Jeff Walbran says: ‘We were delighted to meet with the members of the Bingo in Ardee recently and to hold a raffle for €1,300 worth of hearing aids. People with untreated hearing loss can often experience isolation so it was great to visit a place that encourages social interaction and has a strong sense of friendly camaraderie.’
Specsavers staff were on hand to speak to the attendees about the services on offer and answered any questions that they had. Staff encouraged those present on the night to take a proactive approach to their hearing and avail to the free hearing test services available at Specsavers Dundalk. Speaking about hearing loss Jeff explains: 'As we get older, we can find that our hearing may not be as sharp as it once was and exposure to high decibel levels can also be detrimental. Unfortunately, hearing loss is often overlooked by people when it comes to their healthcare routine. At Specsavers, we encourage everyone over the age of 55 to get a hearing check every two years.’
Specsavers Dundalk provides professional and vital optical and hearing care services to the local community. The store offers a comprehensive audiological service, with a clinic every Wednesday and Friday, and some Thursday evenings. The hearing clinic is overseen by highly skilled audiologist Jeff Walbran. All hearing tests are free and there is no requirement to book an appointment in advance.
