Store participates in static cycle to raise funds for local charity
Specsavers Drogheda recently put their wheels in motion, as they held a static cycle in store to raise much needed funds for Raising for Ryan, a charity set up to raise money for a local child in need of medical treatment abroad.
The store’s optical assistant Donna Fay brought her dance troupe in store for the static cycle, with the group raising an impressive €1,600 on the day. The dance troupe cycled the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) in store and customers were invited to drop in and show their support for the very worthy cause.

The store also sponsored Donna and her troupe as they participated in a local Strictly Come Dancing competition for the charity. In total, the group raised a total of €9,000 through various activities such as the static cycle and dance competition.
Specsavers Drogheda store partner, Kerril Hickey, spoke after the static cycle: ‘We are absolutely thrilled with the achievements of Donna, her dance troupe and the Specsavers team. At Specsavers Drogheda we feel passionately about Raising for Ryan and we are proud to be supporting the charity with our fundraising efforts in every way we can. Through the fantastic commitment and the support of our loyal customers, €1,600 was raised at the static cycle for the worthwhile charity. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the hardworking staff at the store for their dedication and to all of our loyal customers for their continued support’.
