Specsavers Tallaght staff recently exercised their pedal power on a static bike to raise much needed funds for Saoirse Women’s Refuge. The staff members pedalled up a whopping 2190km - the same distance as the annual cycle around Ireland race.
The staff in Tallaght were thrilled that customers dug deep and donated to the special collection buckets to keep the team on target to raise much need funds in aid of Saoirse Women’s Refuge.
Fun Run Challenge
This latest challenge follows hot on the heels of Specsavers 5km run in Tymon which raised an impressive € 1,000 towards Specsavers’ commitment to raising €10,000 for the charity over the next two years.
Saoirse Women's Refuge
The refuge provides invaluable support for victims of domestic abuse and their families. It offers a safe and confidential support service and crisis accommodation for women and children suffering domestic abuse. Through their work they also aim to address the prevention of domestic abuse in Irish society by working with an array of other agencies linked with families at risk and by providing information and support sessions to local groups.
Specsavers Tallaght Store Director Lisa Walsh commented, ‘ We are delighted to continue to lend support to such a worthy cause as Saoirse, and want to thank everyone who come along and cheered on our staff as they attempted to cycle around Ireland in our store! All support people give to this invaluable charity is so appreciated.’
