€38,650 raised for Irish Cancer Society

For the sixth consecutive year, Specsavers Navan sponsored the Boyne Valley Pink Ribbon Walk.

Worthwhile charity

The annual charity event, which took place last October, is in aid of Irish Cancer Society. Last year’s walk, which started and finished in Kells, was an incredible success with €38,650 raised for the worthwhile charity.

Speaking at the cheque presentation, Deirdre said ‘As a community optician and hearing centre, supporting local charities and clubs is a key part of our culture. We are delighted to present the cheque to the Irish Cancer Society, which raises awareness and provides essential services to cancer patients and their families. We would like to thank all our customers who supported this great cause.’

Irish Cancer Society

The Irish Cancer Society offers a range of services to cancer patients and their families including specialist night nurses, the volunteer drive to hospital scheme, a phone help line and counselling. Monies raised also go towards important scientific research in to cancer.
