The team at Specsavers Eyre Square were delighted to welcome rugby star and Specsavers Kid’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year ambassador, Kieran Marmion, in store, as he was in to get tested and fitted for a new set of contact lenses.

The 25-year-old scrumhalf requires good vision to ensure he is always on top of his game, providing a vital link for his team on the rugby pitch.

Contact lenses

When it comes to sports and contact lenses, they make for the perfect match. For customers like Kieran, contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses as they provide sharp vision, without the hassle of glasses getting in the way.

Kieran explains: ‘As I spend most of my time either training or playing rugby matches, I need sharp and stable vision, without the worry of wearing glasses. For me, contact lenses fit perfectly with my lifestyle, allowing me freedom, both on and off the pitch.’

In-store demonstrations

Contact lenses are available to correct most optical conditions for which glasses are prescribed, including long and short sight, presbyopia and astigmatism. Although contact lenses can take a little getting used to, the Specsavers Eyre Square team are on-hand to provide in-store demonstrations.

Fulfill your potential

Being able to see clearly is essential in helping people fulfill their potential in many pursuits and contact lenses ensure customers, like Kieran, do not need to choose between doing the activities they love and having good vision.

Thanks to technological developments, contact lenses have never been easier to use or more comfortable to wear.
