Local community festival
The team at Specsavers Donegal Town was thrilled to sponsor the 2017 Mary from Dungloe festival.
A special gala dinner recently took place in celebration of 50 years of the Mary from Dungloe festival. As one of the festival sponsors, members of the Specsavers Donegal Town team were invited to join in the festivities, which took place in the Waterfront Hotel in Dungloe on Saturday, 05 August. A fantastic evening was had by all, with some staff meeting Daniel O'Donnell himself.
The Mary From Dungloe International Festival is a popular Irish music festival held annually in the town of Dungloe. The festival is centred on a pageant to find out which contestant has the spirit of the festival, who is then crowned "Mary From Dungloe".
The annual festival saw Ireland's first boy band Emmet Spiceland reunite for one time only. Emmet Spiceland put on a great show and were extremely popular amongst the attendees.
Speaking about the sponsoring of the event Eddie Dolan commented “We were delighted to be a sponsor of the 50th Mary from Dungloe festival this year – our first time to have been involved with the festival. It’s such a key calendar moment for Donegal locals each year and we were thrilled to be a part of something so important for the local community”.
