Specsavers Crumlin was delighted to sponsor the 2017 Jim Boggan Memorial Cycle, which took place earlier this summer. The cycle attracted 82 participants and over 30 volunteers on the day – all of whom were provided with a Specsavers sponsored jersey for the event.

Jim Boggan Memorial Cycle

The Jim Boggan Memorial Cycle, in its 10th year this year, comprises a 92-mile trek from Jim’s resting place in Taghmon, Co. Wexford to his beloved GAA Club in Crumlin. As a main sponsor of the event, Specsavers Crumlin donated €1,000 and provided cycling jerseys to the cause.

The Specsavers store has experienced enormous support and kindness from the local community, making this fundraiser a roaring success.

Store’s involvement

Speaking about the store’s involvement, Specsavers Crumlin store director Edwina McKinney commented: ‘We were delighted to sponsor the 2017 Jim Boggan Memorial Cycle and are very proud of our own team member, Niamh Fitzsimons’ for completing the cycle.

'This year’s chosen charity is South Tipp Autism, and we were thrilled to have played a part in making this year’s cycle a success for such a good cause.’.
