Specsavers is delighted to announce the arrival of a state of the art hearing service in Newbridge this week.
Councillor Paddy Kennedy
Local councillor Paddy Kennedy was on hand to officially launch the Edward Street hearing centre on Monday, 9th of February.
Importance of hearing health
Hearing director at Specsavers Newbridge, Carol O’Neill commented, ‘We’re delighted to be officially opening our new hearing centre at Specsavers Newbridge. Hearing loss is an issue that effects many Irish people and today gives us an opportunity to remind people about the importance of looking after their hearing health. My fantastic team and I are now running the hearcare clinic in the Edward Street hearing centre from Monday – Saturday, 9.30am until 6pm.’
In a recent national Specsavers hearcare survey conducted by Amárach Research on the attitudes of Irish people towards hearing loss, almost half of the respondents worryingly stated that they agreed that gradual hearing loss is part and parcel of getting old and not necessarily a condition that can be treated.
Commenting on these results, Specsavers Newbridge’s hearing director Carol O’Neill said: ‘It’s time to remove the stigma associated with hearing loss and to normalise it, much as we’ve already done with glasses, by offering people easy access to top quality, affordable hearing services. We’re very pleased to be offering the people of Newbridge and surrounding areas the opportunity to avail of a free hearing test and to have any questions they may have answered.’
Three-minute hearing screening
Specsavers hearing centres provide a free, three-minute hearing screenings, with no need to book a full appointment and no obligation to buy. The screener lets customers know whether they would benefit from having a full hearing test, which takes about one hour. Each hearing centre boasts hi-tech facilities and sells quality hearing aids at great value-for-money prices.
