Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise a massive €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.

Committed to cycling

Specsavers Monaghan, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Monaghan raising over €750 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. The bike was kindly donated by local gym, The Fitness Habit, on the day. 

Fantastic effort 

There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers Monaghan team, who succeeded in cycling a total of 235km, over 100km more than their target.

Co. Monaghan

Last year, 1,383 children from Co. Monaghan attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 4 admittances each day from the county.
