Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.

Committed to cycling

Both Specsavers on Cruises Street and in Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with both Specsavers raising over €1,000 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. Elevery Sports kindly donated bikes and customers who dropped into the stores on the day supported the team in completing their 120km section of the cycle.

Fantastic effort

There was a fantastic effort made by the both Specsavers teams in particular Sean Power and Shane Hogan, with each store succeeding in cycling the target of 120km on the day.

Co. Limerick

Last year, 3,214 children from Co. Limerick attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 9 admittances each day from the county.
