Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.
Committed to cycling
Specsavers Kilkenny, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Kilkenny raising €1000 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. Customers who dropped into the store located at Exchequer House on the day were treated to some delicious cakes, baked by the staff in aid of the charity and supported them in completing their 120km section of the cycle
There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers Kilkenny team, who succeeded in cycling the target of 120km on the day.
Last year, 2,574 children from Co. Kilkenny attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 7 admittances each day.
