Sponsoring Boyne Rugby Club
The Mini and Youth divisions of Boyne Rugby Club received a tremendous boost recently when Specsavers Drogheda agreed to be their sponsor for the next three years.
At a special function in Shamrock Lodge, Boyne RFC President Derek Farrell outlined the enormous expansion of the club in recent years, which now has almost 500 players ranging in age from six years of age to 19, making Boyne one of the biggest rugby clubs in Leinster.

Derek Farrell also thanked Specsavers Director Kerril Hickey for Specsavers’ generosity in committing to support the club for the next three years, which is essential to ensure that the club maintains the standards they have reached over the last few years and will help with coaching, transport, apparel and facilities. Kerril Hickey added, ‘As a local optician and hearing centre, we are committed to giving back to the community and are delighted to sponsor the club and nurture young talent. We wish all the players every success over the coming years.’
To celebrate the sponsorship, Specsavers Drogheda is offering a free sports bottle and eye test voucher to customers who come into the store wearing the Boyne Rugby Club jersey or have a receipt to prove purchase. The offer runs until the end of October 2016.
