Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.
Committed to cycling
Specsavers Cavan, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Cavan raising €400 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. Customers who donated to Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin on the day were entered into a draw to win a prize, kindly donated by Sam MacCauley’s Chemist.
There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers Cavan team, who succeeded in cycling the target of 120km on the day.
Last year, 2,063 children from Co. Cavan attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 6 admittances each day.
