To raise awareness around World Hearing Day (3 March), Specsavers Athlone hosted an in-store family event on Saturday, 2 March.

 

In-Store Event

The Specsavers Athlone team, wearing novelty ears, alongside the Specsavers Super“Earo” mascot, were delighted to welcome families to the store. A great atmosphere was created for children. They enjoyed face painting and were encouraged to take part in the Super“Earo” colouring competition, nominating their very own Super“Earo”, which saw many parents and grandparents featured as their inspiration. The artwork was later displayed on the shop window.

 

Complimentary Hearing Screenings

The Specsavers Athlone Audiology team were also on hand throughout the day to carry out complimentary hearing screenings and answer any related questions about their services.

 

Partnership with Beaumont Hospital

In celebration of World Hearing Day (3 March), Specsavers Audiologists Ireland were delighted to announce their continued partnership with National Hearing Implant and Viani Research Centre at Beaumont Hospital 2019, having raised €15,000 for the charity by the end of last year.

 

Raise Awareness

Audiologist, Lynn Morris, comments: ‘With one in six Irish adults affected by hearing loss, it is important for us to continue to raise awareness around proactive hearing health, not just on key calendar dates such as World Hearing Day but every day. Our in-store event on Saturday heightened the awareness around hearing health and we were delighted to see so many entries in the Super“Earo” competition and people benefiting from the complimentary hearing screenings.’

 

Hearing Centre

The hearing centre at the store is open seven days a week for screenings and repairs. Complimentary hearing screenings are available to those over the age of 18.
