Retired Garda Siochana officer Shay Martyn has been crowned the Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Shay, who also won the over-60s category, beat seven other finalists to take the title at the red carpet event at the Royal Hibernian Gallery in Dublin.
The Irish final was hosted by TV presenter and stylist Darren Kennedy. The competition was judged by TV personality and model agent Celia Holman Lee with the Irish Daily Mirror's showbusiness reporter Sam Hamilton and Specsavers' store partner Sinead Clohessy.
Shay, from Castleknock, said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled to have been voted Ireland’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year. The overall experience has been fantastic.’ As well as his title and trophy, part of his prize was to travel to London to receive a make-over for the star-studded awards ceremony, presented by Melanie C and Gok Wan.
