On Saturday 17 September, local radio station Shannonside broadcast its popular sports show, Saturday Sports, live from Specsavers Longford. A great family day was enjoyed by local customers and to make the occasion, the store on Ballymahon Street was decorated with a balloon arch and children were treated to free balloons.

Eye health

Ophthalmic Director at Specsavers Longford Fiona Ferguson spoke to presenter Tony Ghee on the importance of regular eye tests for maintaining good eye health while audiologist Ronan Byrne encouraged listeners to take advantage of the free hearing tests in store if they have any concerns about hearing loss.

Guests on the day

Leitrim County goalkeeper Martin McHugh and former Roscommon County footballer Frankie Dolan were guests on the day and had their eyes tested by the expert staff in Specsavers before discussing the importance of having good vision and hearing to perform well on the pitch.

Competition giveaway

To celebrate the recent launch of the ComFit range of glasses, Specsavers Longford ran a competition giveaway with two lucky customers winning a pair of glasses from the collection.

Speaking after the event, Ophthalmic Director, Fiona Ferguson said, ‘I would like to thank local radio station Shannonside for broadcasting from our store. It was a great day which was enjoyed by all the community. We are also grateful to our special guests Frankie Dolan and Martin McHugh for highlighting the importance of getting regular eye and ear tests as part of your overall health routine.’
