The Specsavers team in Clondalkin continues its long-standing tradition of supporting the local community in Clondalkin. The store is delighted to announce they are the proud recent sponsors of the Clondalkin Cycling Club.

The store recently sponsored the local cycling club and to celebrate, the staff hosted a presentation and photographs were taken with Sean the Assistant Store Manager and ladies from the cycling club wearing Specsavers branded jerseys.

Local community optician

Store director Emma Conroy commented on the sponsorship stating ‘Specsavers Clondalkin have always supported the local community and we are thrilled to be involved and supporting a great cycling club. Cycling is a fantastic sport for people to get involved with and has many health benefits but the gear and equipment can be expensive. We are a local community optician, therefore supporting local community clubs and charities is a key part of our culture’.

One issue with cycling is that the gear and equipment can be quite costly when compared to other sports. A bike and kit at entry level can cost between €500 and €1000.

Due to sponsorship from local businesses like Specsavers Clondalkin, the club is able to lower these costs and offer concession prices to members, therefore easing the burden on members when it comes to starting off or renewing club training kit. This makes the sport more inclusive and open to all members of the community.

Specsavers Clondalkin is located in The Mill Shopping Centre and is open seven days a week. To speak to us, please call 01 4056200.
