The Specsavers opticians store in Naas, Co. Kildare is celebrating a spectacular anniversary on the 4th of October as the store is 5 years in business this year. Specsavers first opened its doors in September 2008 and has been proudly serving the people of Naas since then.
Leading brands of digital hearing aids are stocked in the North Main St store. In addition to being experts in eye health, Specsavers Naas also specialises in hearcare with an on-site hearing centre, testing each Friday along with Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings, with free hearing screeners available every day in store managed by highly trained Audiologist, Orla Walsh.
Further their education
Many of the staff members at Specsavers Naas have completed courses in Ophthalmic Dispensing and are continuing to further their education in Optometry. Team members Aoife McGrath, Nichola Murphy and Aliona Boden have completed up to Cert 3 in Ophthalmic Dispensing and are currently working on completing Cert 4. Lab technician Anne Marie Clancy is completing a SMC Lab Technicians course in England.
Speaking of the store’s milestone occasion, Store Directors Aengus Morrin and Labhaoise McGrane commented, “We are delighted to be celebrating our store’s success over the last five years and we would like to thank everyone for their support along the way. We have had a fantastic five years with our team and with newly appointed Store Manager, Janet Hughes, having come from Specsavers Newbridge we look forward to maintaining the relationships we have built with our customers, local businesses and community groups”.
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin
Specsavers Naas is no stranger to raising funds for charity. Over the five years, the store has raised much needed funds for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and most recently, Specsavers Ireland’s national charity partner– Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. To date the store has raised over €500 for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and recently held a charity static cycle to raise funds for the hospital, with plans now in gear to host another cycle in the coming months.
In addition to the store’s fundraising efforts, the staff at Specsavers Naas are committed to the ongoing support of the Irish Book Awards and Vision Aid Overseas, with store director Labhaoise McGrane having visited Africa twice volunteering for this great cause.
