Specsavers Opera Lane has a team of experienced optometrists, audiologists and highly trained staff, providing customers with unparalleled service and expertise. One such team member is Optometrist and Contact Lens Supervisor, Raquel Torres.
From Spain to Specsavers
Hailing from Jaén, a small town in the South of Spain, Raquel moved to Cork in 2012 and has been working in Specsavers for over three years. The Spanish native graduated from the University of Granada with a Bachelor's degree in Optometry and a Masters Degree in Advanced Optometry and Research. Raquel continued her training and earned her second Masters Degree in Clinic Optometry at Reina Sofia University Hospital in Murcia. The optometrist is a fantastic asset to the new Opera Lane store, providing the service in both Spanish and English.
Team of experts
Since joining Specsavers, Raquel has obtained an ILm Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills and is currently undertaking the ILm Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management. She is also undertaking the course Level 6 Certificate in Children´s Eye Care for Optometrist (Person BTEC) which she hopes to complete by the end of this year.
Store director John Morrin is delighted with Raquel’s achievements and continued learning. With these qualifications, Raquel will further strengthen our team of experts.’

I am passionate about Specsavers vision and values and I work hard every day to deliver this to our Opera Lane customers.’
