Michael O'Leary celebrated homecoming tribute in Mullingar for the Aintree winner.

On Sunday, 10 April hundreds lined the streets of Mullingar in tribute to Aintree Grand National winner ‘Rule The World’.

Against the odds

Irish businessman and the chief executive officer of the Irish airline Ryanair, Michael O'Leary was beaming with pride as he celebrated the success of his horse 'Rule the World' with a parade through his home town of Mullingar and right past the Specsavers local store.

'Rule the World', was crowned a champion as he claimed victory at the prestigious 2016 Crabbie's Grand National horse race. Although not a favourite, and sitting on odds of 33-1, Rule the World ran down any sceptics, winning by a convincing 6 lengths.

Great excitement for Specsavers team

The champion racer was flown overnight from the UK to complete his triumph with a fitting homecoming tribute surrounded by excited mullingar locals, including the specsavers mullingar team, with staff members Philomena Redmond and Caroline Hynes lucky enough to snap some pictures with the winner.
