Naas and Newbridge join forces and raise an impressive €1,300 for charity
Specsavers Naas and Newbridge joined forces as store employees, friends and family participated in a 5K walk with a view to raising funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
Customers to both stores were invited to take part and many made generous donations to the worthwhile cause with the event raising a total of €1,300.
Specsavers Naas Store Director Aengus Morrin would like to thank the local community for their unwavering support. Aengus stated, ‘Once again, we are amazed by the support of our staff, customers and local community. The generosity we have experienced is overwhelming. One step at a time, we can make a big difference to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, as we continue to work together.’
Having exceeded the initial €100,000 fundraising target, Specsavers Ireland recently presented Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin with a cheque for €120,000 and announced that it would be extending its commitment to the hospital by pledging to raise an additional €100,000.
Much needed funds
As part of the recently launched ‘Climb for Crumlin’ campaign, Specsavers staff member Tony Power embarked on the epic journey of climbing to Mount Everest Base Camp to help raise the much needed funds for the refurbishment of the new ophthalmology department at the hospital.
Specsavers staff across the country will continue stepping up to the challenge with their own in-store fundraising activities in the coming months to ensure they reach their target.
