Paediatric clinic open at Specsavers.

A DEDICATED paediatric clinic specialising in eye examinations and services for infants and young children is now on offer in Portlaoise.

Paediatric Optometry

Optometrist and Specsavers Store Director Brian Duffy recently completed a postgraduate module in Paediatric Optometry at Cardiff University. The course places a strong emphasis on the need for eye examinations for children and how the practitioner can ensure child-friendly testing procedures for a successful examination. This enables him to test children aged three years and older.

Boyne U9 Rugby team celebrate victory

The team at Drogheda were delighted to support the Boyne Under 9 team at the Rugby Blitz mini league on 9th November this year.

Local support

Boyne Rugby Club travelled to local rivals Ratoath and Ashbourne on Sunday 9th November and emerged as overall winners. Store staff were on hand with water bottles to keep the young players hydrated and on top form for the deciding match. The U9 Boyne team celebrated their fantastic victory with a nice cold Specsavers sports water bottle.

The team at Navan are delighted to support their local Under 9 rugby team, along with dedicated couch and Specsavers customer, Tiernan O'Rourke.  

Local support

Store staff recently provided the team with water bottles to keep the young players hydrated on and off the pitch, and they have been using them at all matches and training ever since.

Specsavers Stillorgan family fun day

Specsavers celebrated the launch of the new and exclusive The Gruffalo eyewear range of kids glasses, with a roar, at a themed fun day at the Stillorgan store. 

Party Time

Visitors to the Dublin store had great fun throughout the day and were kept entertained, including an in-store colouring competition which encouraged little monsters to get their creative juices flowing, colourful face painting and lots of giveaways and goodies.

Paddy Roche aged nine and a pupil at Rushbrook National School in Cobh is the recent winner of the junior category of the Specsavers Children’s Writing Competition in association with Bord Gais Energy Irish Book Awards.

Pictured at Specsavers Midleton in Cork, Paddy beat hundreds of entries and has received all shortlisted titles in the Specsavers Irish Children’s Book of the Year category from this year’s Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards.

Paddy’s school will also receive a donation of some of the best shortlisted Irish books from the last year.

Claudia Bang aged 13 is a pupil at Loretto Beaufort High School in Rathfarnam and recently won the senior category of the Specsavers Children's Writing Competition in association with Bord Gais Energy Irish Book Awards.

Pictured (right) at Specsavers Nutgrove, Claudia beat hundreds of other entries and has received all shortlisted titles in the Specsavers Irish Children's Book of the Year category from this year's Bord Gais Energy Irish Book Awards.

Claudia's school will also receive a donation of some of the best shortlisted Irish books from the last year.
