Galway woman makes Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year finals
Ailish McDonagh from Roscam in Galway is one step closer to winning the coveted title of Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year after being chosen as the winner of the 35-44 age category.
Following a nationwide search, Ailish beat off stiff competition from hundreds of entries and is one of five finalists who will compete to represent Ireland at the Grand Final in London on 11 October at 8 Northumberland Avenue. Having suffered from headaches and blurry vision, Ailish McDonagh visited Specsavers in Eyre Square two years ago and was treated by Noel Meehan who carried out a series of tests. She was prescribed glasses and availed herself of the 2 for 1 offer on designer glasses so that she could mix frame styles and choose colours to suit her.
Proud glasses wearer
Speaking at the prize-giving, Ailish McDonagh said, ‘I am thrilled to have reached the final five and would be so proud to represent Ireland at the Grand Final. I love wearing my glasses and receive many compliments on my eyewear. I feel confident and fashionable wearing them and love how they can add style to my wardrobe and transform my look.’
Store director Noel Meehan added, ‘We are delighted that a customer from our store has won this category and would like to congratulate Ailish on this achievement. She wears her glasses with style and confidence so is a worthy winner in our eyes.’
