Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.
Committed to cycling
Specsavers Galway, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Galway raising over €1,100 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. The Kingfisher Club at NUI Galway generously donated bicycles to the store on the day.
There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers team and together, with the local people of Galway, succeeded in cycling the target of 120km on the day.
Last year, 4,367 children from Co. Galway attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 12 admittances each day.
