The LauraLynn Children’s Hospice has received €1,000, thanks to fundraising by Specavers in Dun Laoghaire.

The store raised money by providing glasses repairs in return for donations from customers.

Store director Peter Curtis said: ‘As more and more people are affected by cancer each year, we feel that the work done at the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice is more important than ever.

‘The growing number of families using their services speaks volumes and the dedication to helping children and their families at a time they need it most is an inspiration to us all.’

The hospice provides services for children with high medical and nursing needs from birth to 18 years old.
