The Cork Specsavers store supported their optician's lab manager, Mandy Shine, in her bid to raise €700 for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk. Mandy organised ‘yummy days’ in the city centre store and sold pancakes and cakes to customers to raise money.

The optician and hearing store also organised other fundraising days to help Mandy reach her target. The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national initiative, which raises money for Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.

Store director John Morrin, said: ‘We are delighted to have been in a position to support our lab manager Mandy in her efforts to support this event.

More and more people are affected by breast cancer each year and we feel that the work done with Action Breast Cancer is more important than ever. We are very proud of Mandy and her achievement.’
