Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.
Committed to cycling
Specsavers Clonmel, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Clonmel raising €500 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. Elvery Sports and Worldwide Cycles donated the rollers and bikes and customers dropped into the store and supported the team in completing their 120km section of the cycle.
There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers Clonmel team, who succeeded in cycling the target of 120km on the day.
Last year, 3,573 children from Co. Tipperary attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 10 admittances each day.
