Specsavers Ireland recently announced its commitment to raise €100,000 over the next year for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to contribute towards the hospital’s ophthalmology unit.
Committed to cycling
Specsavers Carlow, along with Specsavers stores nationwide, committed to cycling the circumference of Ireland (5,600kms) on Saturday 7th June, with Specsavers Carlow raising over €500 for Specsavers’ chosen charity of the year. Eire Og GAA Club generously donated two spinning bicycles to Specsavers Carlow for the day.
There was a fantastic effort made by the entire Specsavers Carlow team, who succeeded in cycling the target of 120km on the day.
Last year, 2,600 children from Co. Carlow attended Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, meaning there were on average 7 admittances each day.
