Operation Transformation leader
Specsavers is delighted to announce that employee and assistant store manager from the Clondalkin store, Sean Daly, has been selected as one of Operation Transformation’s five 2017 team leaders.
The RTÉ series kicked off its tenth season on Wednesday, 04 January which follows the health and fitness journey of five Irish people, supported and guided by a panel of experts in the fields of fitness, nutrition and psychology in order to reach their individual goals.
25-year-old Sean, assistant manager at Specsavers Clondalkin made a decision this year to turn his life around and noted that he applied for this year’s Operation Transformation because he had had enough of being unhappy with his weight and his appearance. At 6ft 1’, and weighing 23st 12lbs, Sean is ready for a big change in his life, and believes the show can be the driving force behind that change.
Television presenter and Operation Transformation host Katherine Thomas visited Specsavers in The Mill Shopping Centre, Clondalkin in November to surprise Sean and announce him as one of this year’s team leaders. Sean was delighted and shocked, stating, ‘I’m over the moon, I can’t believe it.’ Sean also kicked his smoking habit that very day saying ‘I said that if they come in and reveal me, the first thing I’ll do is give up the smokes, so they’re gone from today.”
Specsavers Clondalkin store director Emma Conroy noted on the occasion, ‘We are incredibly proud of Sean and are excited to watch him and his transformation over the coming weeks. We plan to support Sean on his difficult yet truly inspiring journey as he seeks his end goal of confidence and happiness’.
