Specsavers Ennis first opened their doors in 2004. Since opening, store directors Rosaleen O’Sullivan and John O'Farrell, along with a team of experienced optometrists and trained customer service staff, have proudly served the people of Ennis town and Co. Clare.

Growth

Specsavers Ennis has experienced massive growth over the last 10 years. In 2004 the Caby's Lane store employed just 9 members of staff but today employs 17 staff including 3 fully qualified Opticians and 2 Dispensing Optician.

Fundus camera

As Ireland’s number one optician, Specsavers Ennis has all the latest equipment in its testing rooms and is committed to bringing advanced eye test technology to the people of Ennis. Specsavers has invested in sophisticated eye equipment called the fundus camera, a state-of –the-art piece of equipment which can play an important role in the early detection of eye disease. This high tech fundus camera produces detailed images of the back of the eye, which can detect a variety of health problems – such as diabetes, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. The Specsavers Ennis store has on-site labs to provide a quick turn around on prescription glasses.

Hearcare

In addition to being experts in eye health, Specsavers Ennis also specialises in hearcare with a hearing centre managed by highly trained Audiologist. Specsavers provides a free hearcare screening that involves a simple three minute test. Customers do not need to book an appointment for this test and there is no obligation to buy. The Specsavers hearing screener provides a way for customers to monitor their hearing and ensure regular hearing tests.

Training

The team at Specsavers Ennis are healthcare professionals that pride themselves on providing the best possible healthcare service for eye and ear health to customers. With rigorous training programmes in place for staff and investment in the best technology available, Specsavers is always striving to improve its service for the people of Ennis. Specsavers Ennis also emphasises the continued education of their employees. At present they currently employee two student Opticians and one trainee Dispensing Optician. With three of their long-term members of staff now undertaking a Cert 3 in Dispensing, they aim to have the most up to date skills and information so as to continue to provide customers with the best service possible.
