What is retinal detachment?
Answer:
A retinal detachment is a lifting of part of the layer which lines the back of the eye (the retina) away from its supporting layers.
If the layers are not replaced quickly, the nutrients which keep the retina healthy cannot reach it and the cells die. Signs of retinal detachment therefore need urgent medical attention.
