Help and frequently asked questions

What are the risks after treatment of an acoustic neuroma?

Answer:

Surgery usually affects any remaining hearing in the affected ear and can result in partial or complete hearing loss in that ear.

For small tumours, it may be possible for the surgeon to preserve the hearing in the affected ear.

For larger tumours, the chances of preserving hearing are usually low.
